home garden

Aj and I love gardening. We started the Grove Community Garden here in Bryson City in 2009. But even with the big garden there, nothing beats being able to walk out into your own backyard for some dinner fixin's. We moved into a new place in March. The yard is a little smaller than we are used to, but we have really made the most of it.

Aj preparing a raised bed.

Here are some of the tasty things that the raised bed has produced. Thank you God for our capability, as humans, to grow and make everything we need to survive.

A healthy cabbage plant.

The Cherokee Purple is our favorite tomato variety. It is full of flavor and is less acidic than other varieties.

Ready to make a tasty salad.

A wonderful gift from Donna & Sherry at The Chocolate Shoppe! We love those ladies!

We have also added beans and okra to the flower beds in the front yard. We are trying to use any space available. More gardening adventures coming soon!!

HAPPY PLANTING!
